Taking a close look at what the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is feeding the masses today makes me thing about how a one-sided portrayal of my own activity would look if, heaven forbid, I should ever meet a similar fate. For example, where Sheriff Boyer poisons the well.

"He's been making radical statements for years and that pot is going to boil over sooner or later. He's always been very good at walking right up to the line as to what would get a warrant against him or just exercising his freedom of speech."

It's easy for a gang of local officials to depict just about any pro-gun rights, anti-state contributor to youtube, FB, or blogspot as a dangerous wingnut to a virtually unquestioning media.

Missouri has a well known culture of corruption with it’s police.
Kansas City, Columbia, and St Louis being the worst of the worst.

Not surprising that they shot up some jewish guy that was giving them
problems. I suppose if JPFO was shameless enough, they could use this
sort of thing to their advantage.

Would be the ideal “hate crime” if someone wanted to try and drag the
FBI in to investigate, but I think they’re spent after trying to clean
up the mess with the Seattle PD. SPD put Missouri cops to shame after
numerous racial incidents, tweaked up cops shooting hobos, and union
bosses insulting the mayor and voter base.

I’m making an audio recording of the video now, because it probably WILL get taken off of YouTube. And yeah, he does seem pretty wrung out in the video and does say some wild things.

Though he does talk about having plans for the 17th (occupying the courthouse), so it doesn’t sound like he’d already planned to check out.

Notice in the video he posted Sunday regarding the raid on his office,
Weihaus said,

“I actually believe that the Highway Patrol was trying to set me up into firing at them. They left my gun chambered with the safety off after they stole my computers.”

It’s disturbing that public information officer, Sgt Al Nothum, has told Pete Eyre that MHP won’t release the names of the officers. He says that’s standard procedure when there’s an ongoing investigation. That’s hard to believe when the investigation could go on for months. What valid justification do they have to withhold the names of the shooters in this case?

Indeed, the shooting could have been justified, but then why withhold information and evidence from the public? They’re not even telling the media the basics that other law enforcement agencies routinely give over to the press in the aftermath of a shooting, such as if there were witnesses or if both officers shot Weinhaus. How far away from him were they? What was the nature of the meeting? Are the media even asking these questions?

Sgt Nothum’s number is 636-300-2800, but I don’t think he’s picking up.

Another interesting thought from a comment on this youtube video.
“Legendary Asshole” gives his theory; “Cops were there to meet him. they pulled their guns out when they saw his holster. they told him to approach, he did, with his hands up, they told him to stop, he did. they told him to put the gun on the ground, it was holstered so he had to remove it, They deliberately lead him into a ‘threatening pose’ to justify the shooting”. Also seems plausible. And scary.

You’re right that the video does show a man going through traumatic times. I did hyperlink the video at the end of the first video. I can’t say what actually happened and it is in the realm of possibility that he pulled a gun on the cops. It doesn’t feel that way to me but that doesn’t really mean anything. The whole thing just seems fishy on the cops part. Stealing his computers and arranging a meeting at a gas station? Why not the courthouse? or the cop shop? There are a lot of unanswered questions.

I hope Weinhaus lives to tell his side of the story, but if his youtube reports are any indicators, it does appear he was not at his best. That doesn’t mean that he didn’t have some real dirt on some public officials, but there are a few things in his latest video to indicate that he was not altogether connected to reality. He had many of he personal items confiscated last month, was losing his home, and his third wife had just filed for divorce. He was in a desperate situation. He might have been suicidal so I wouldn’t be surprised if he did draw down on the officers. I wouldn’t bet the farm either way and I don’t trust the police to be honest in the investigation. Unless there’s video evidence or some truly credible witnesses, I doubt we’re going find out what happened.
